The Clubhouse
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!? I AM!
I am EXTREMELY excited for LSU football versus Washington on saturday!
That movie was amazing.“We Believe,” the documentary film that explores the love affair between the city of Chicago and the Cubs will run in select theaters in September prior to the DVD release slated for Sept. 22. In addition to the 104-minute feature length film, the DVD will be loaded with bonus extras including interviews and deleted scenes.
Cubs fans will love this movie. It followed the 2008 team for nine months, and features interviews with players, manager Lou Piniella, coaches, celebrity Chicagoans as well as people like Fred Washington who run the manual scoreboard at Wrigley Field. One of the best segments is on Steve Goodman, who wrote the song, “Go Cubs Go.” -Carrie Muskat
…
Lots and lots of books were written about that 2004 team, which sucked (not so much record-wise, but in every other aspect). Then there was a lull (because from 2005-2006 we DID suck record-wise), and then the 2007 team got a book that focused on Lou and his managing.
But the 2008 team? The team that we’ll all remember forever? They get a freakin’ movie. The people making the movie didn’t know the ride they’d follow, though they of course had hoped for a championship. They didn’t get it, but in a way, they got something better: one glorious summer spanning 162 days, where the greatest Cubs team since the 30’s took the field, winning 97 games.
And I love it.
This photo is just incredible.
TRL curing kids cause he’s that awesome.
DLee’s wife is adorable.
Seriously! If trogdor wants to make her design into a shirt or a bag! Like a tote bag! I love tote bags… I will buy one.behold
omfg this is amazing. I would most def buy a shirt with this on it.
HAHA. OMG, sign me up for this shirt! :D
As long as he gets the job done then whatev.I’d like to give you Chicagoans a heads up: Jay Cutler is a whiney bastard.LOL, good thing I don’t like football!
I love it when my boys wear purple and gold ;) (unless they’re from Minnesota [& the exception to that rule is AD])
Steltz is my favorite. I heart him.
Da Bears
Wow, watching the Bears tonight is getting me EXTREMELY excited for the regular season to start! I love Jay Cutler. The fans at Denver were booing him like crazy and that’s very amusing. If I was a franchise QB and heard my team was thinking of trading me, I’d be upset too. I don’t care what happened in Denver to get Cutler here.. I’m just glad it did. We have a real QB. When he connects with Olsen, I go crazy! I love watching those two!! (Not to mention, Jay, Olsen & Olsen’s wife are a “three sum” haha) And Devin Hester tonight! A 54 yrd return almost for a TD!! He’s so good. Note to self: Stop by his house sometime this or next week and see how he’s doing. Matt Forte is going to run like crazy this season!! September cannot come soon enough.
Here’s to opening night, September 13th, against the freaking Pack!
